ANALISIS MINAT BELAJAR PENDIDIKAN AGAMA ISLAM ANAK DI SMP PERSATUAN AMAL BAKTI 15 MEDAN

Abstract
The background of this research is that there are still problems in children's interest in
learning at SMP Persatuan Amal Bakti 15 Medan towards Islamic religious education lessons. Based
on the results of observations made by researchers, one of the causes is the low interest in learning of
students towards Islamic religious education lessons. This study aims to analyze students' interest in
learning in Islamic religious education subjects, to reveal the supporting and inhibiting factors of
student interest in learning and to explain the efforts made by teachers to overcome the inhibiting
factors of interest in learning. The method used in this research is descriptive using a qualitative
approach. The subjects in this study were class VIII students, totaling 16 people. Data collection tools
used in this study are observation sheets, interview sheets, and documentation. The results showed that
students' interest in learning mathematics in class VIII SMP Persatuan Amal Bakti 15 Medan was in the
very good category with an average observation result of 80.00%. Factors supporting student interest
in learning are student learning motivation, the direction and encouragement of learning given by the
teacher, a quiet learning environment, and complete learning equipment. Factors inhibiting student
interest in learning are crowded classroom conditions, students have their own busyness when the
teacher explains the material and students who do not have the readiness to learn in incomplete
learning equipment. Efforts made by the teacher to overcome the inhibiting factors for learning interest
are the teacher providing motivation to students when the lesson will begin as well as direction and
encouragement while learning is in progress.
