Abstract

The Qur'an in Islam is the first and foremost source and legal basis, because studying and reading the Qur'an from various scientific aspects is important. In order to help humans, especially Muslims, to study Islam, a method of reading and writing the Qur'an is needed. This research is a descriptive qualitative research. The purpose of this study is to find out, analyze and describe the design, implementation of Islamic religious teachers in teaching the Iqro method in improving the reading of the Qur'an and the advantages and disadvantages of implementing the Iqro method for students at SMP Persatuan Amal Bakti 15 Medan City. From the results of the research conducted, it is known that the teacher makes RKH, reads the Qur'an with the iqro method written in the RKH, each student has his own iqro book, the teacher reads the teaching instructions for the iqro book before starting to teach iqro to students, designs learning plans first. , learning planning is done by preparing several important parts such as how and how to apply it, approaches and learning models. The implementation of Islamic religious teachers in teaching the Iqro method to improve the reading of the Qur'an through habituation methods, private methods and providing encouragement to students to be active. While the advantages in implementing the Iqro method is to use the CBSA (Active Child Learning Way) method, while the drawback is that there is no introduction to the original Hijaiyah letters.
