Abstract

The background of this research is that the importance of learning fiqh in madrasas is to foster and nurture students so that they can always understand the teachings of Islam as a whole. Developing the concept of a madrasa environment with faith and piety or developing a religious culture is a set of religious values ​​that underlie behavior, daily habits and symbols practiced by madrasa principals, teachers, students and madrasa residents. For this reason, it is necessary to implement learning to create superior and intelligent human resources, both general knowledge and religious knowledge. Therefore, the implementation of higher order thinking skill (HOTS)-based learning in fiqh subjects at MA Aisyiyah Binjai is expected so that students can apply it in every activity of daily life. So from the explanation of the background, the problems in this research are: How is the implementation of higher order thinking skill (HOTS) based learning at MA Aisyiyah Binjai. This study aims to find out how the implementation of higher order thinking skill (HOTS)-based learning in fiqh subjects at MA Aisyiyah Binjai. This type of research uses qualitative research with a descriptive approach. This research takes the background at MA Aisyiyah Binjai. Researchers used data collection techniques using the methods of observation, interviews, and documentation. The data analysis used qualitative analysis. Meanwhile, in checking the validity of the data using the source triangulation technique.The results of the study show: 1. The process of implementing higher order thinking skill (HOTS) based learning in fiqh subjects at MA Aisyiyah Binjai has three stages, namely the initial stage, core activities, and closing which are carried out in classrooms in the madrasah environment. 2. The results of the research above can be seen that the learning process is in accordance with the stages in the cognitive domain in accordance with HOTS-based learning.
