Abstract

This research raises the issue of the role of Islamic Religious Education learning in
Shaping Al-Karimah Students’ Morals. The subjects in this study were students in class VIII of DHARM
A UTAMA SUKASARI PRIVATE SMP in August 2022. This type of research is field research, namely
research in which data collection is obtained by writing. This research was conducted in Sukasari
Village, Pegajahan District, Serdang Bedagai Regency. But more specifically, this research was
conducted at a school in the village, namely the Sukasari Dharma Utama Education Foundation school.
The research subjects are the Principal, Deputy Principal for Curriculum, PAI teachers and students.
While the method of data collection by the author is observation, interviews and documentation. The
data that has been collected by the method of observation, questionnaires, and assignment. The results
of this study indicate that the learning process at SMP Swasta Dharma Utama Pegajahan runs quite
effectively in accordance with the basic concept of the learning process carried out by educators in
general, namely students follow the learning process enthusiastically in Islamic Religious Education
subjects. The learning methods used by teachers of Islamic Religious Education subjects at SMPS
Dharma Utama Pegajahan schools include: lecture method, discussion method, question and answer
method, assignment. However, the results of observations and observations made in this study were not
as expected. Although the implementation of PAI in the school has gone according to plan, the alkarimah character of these students is still categorized as lacking.
