Abstract

Civil society is a society that has a strong character in upholding the values ​​of justice, tolerance, and active participation in development. Community service activities carried out continuously are one of the important instruments in efforts to shape the character of civil society. This program was implemented in Sukaramai I Village, Medan Area District, Medan City, which is an area with complex social, economic, and cultural diversity. Community service activities include socialization, discussions, and workshops designed to increase the capacity of local human resources, strengthen community participation, and foster a sense of ownership of community development. Through this process, it is hoped that the community can be more empowered, independent, and adaptive to various social challenges. This article discusses the approach, methods, and expected results of the community service program, as well as reviewing basic concepts related to civil society and superior human resources. By using participatory methods and a local needs-based approach, this activity not only functions as a short-term intervention, but also as an initial step towards sustainable social change. The results of this activity are expected to be a model for the implementation of similar community service programs in other areas, as well as making a real contribution to community-based social development.v
